Kailashnath Mahadev Statue is the tallest Lord Shiva’s statue in the world with the height of 143 feet.
This statue of Shiva is situated in Sanga, the border of Bhaktapur and Kavrepalanchok district in Nepal which is 20Km away from Kathmandu. To complete this statute it took seven years, its construction was started in 2004 and finished in 2011.It is made of copper, steel and Zinc. The statue is situated on a hill and while constructing this statue many things are done for precaution due to risk of landslides.
The statue of Kailashnath Mahadev has been one of the attractions in Nepal. The place is listed as must place to visit in magazines, and is recognised by the tourism board of Nepal. One a week day around 5,000 visitors visit the place and larger crowds are expected on weekends, festivals like Shivaratri and on national holidays. A part from the statue of Kailashnath Mahadev there is statue of whole family of Lord Shiva which includes Parvati, Ganesh and also 12 Shivalingas including the Kailashnath Mahadev Shivalingas temple.
For the the more tourist attraction there is a health care natural therapy center where people can enjoy the facility of Spa, swimming pool, sirodhara, different types of bath and packs of massages includes. There is horse riding and 1 km of jogging tracks as well.
The villagers of the hill where the statue of Shiva is situated are uneducated and more were unemployed as well but now because it’s been one of the tourist attraction the village has been developed and the people there have started earning.
